Class Crit

This is where I am at, I am liking what is going on but if it looks cheesy or off please let me know.

  1. This is absolutely amazing! I love this, and I really can feel an eeiry and exotic nature about the character. Really well edited, and I love the choice of the American Horror Story theme, it's so epic! Can't wait to see this finished.

  2. It looks very interesting...and creepy. My only concern is the length, I did kind of zone out after a certain point. But great job!

  3. Jake, what were you thinking... when you came up with this awesome idea! I got chills, and not just because it's cold outside! The theme is perfect, (and thanks for getting me hooked on that show, by the way)! Your actress was spectacular, too! I think the scene with mirrors interrupting the scenes of her walking around kept it interesting, and maybe you could play with adding more scenes with reversals in it? Tanairi mentioned length issues, but I think if you just switched it up like you've been doing the length wont be an issue. Fantastic work, though!

  4. SO Cool Jake its got the vibes of both American Horror Story and Game of Thrones in this. And your model did a fantastic job for you. Can't wait to see what else goes into this. I feel like it can be a title sequence to a show.

  5. Jake, incredible cinematography and editing job. I can tell you really put a lot of effort into pre-production for this short. My only concern is that your original concept is not coming through in this draft of your film. Is this still about self-image? I don't think it matters either way, the visuals remain strong.

  6. My only concern is the relationship of your character being inside and outside. Is she upset about her self-image and goes outside, does she live outside and goes inside and see herself for the first time? I'm just a little confused. It looks great though

  7. This looks awesome. Kinda creepy with an 'American Horror Story' kind of vibe. I would try to make the point of the video come through a little more because I am still unsure what its about.

  8. What Tana said. The aesthetic is good, sound is sufficiently creepy but I started to lose interest around the 1 minute mark. My favorite aspect is the rapid cuts to scenery and lighting that blur in and out of focus.

  9. I've got this on mute right now so I haven't got to hear the music but camera angles are great and you've got some beautiful shots.

  10. Great footage and editing. I do agree though that if the music is going to be purely instrumental it runs a bit long, having a soundtrack with lyrics could help sustain interest.

  11. The beginning is really captivating, especially with the video overlays. I do agree with others on the instrumental. Because it is repetitive, the footage does tend to drag. I would love to see some more of the interesting video overlays throughout the project.

  12. Love the color grading you did. It looks great with the style of music you have going on. The quick cuts keep my attention for a while but I think it's a little long like others said.
