Before Monday

I only shot about 1/3 of what I wanted to shoot so my narrative has changed since my storyboard. I said from the get go that narrative was more of a guideline or skeleton and was subject to change. The piece is suppose to be more poetic than narrative anyway so I do not mind these changes from the original idea. My main concern is if the beats and clip times are lining up and make sense throughout the work. I know some people said they start to tune out, I added some light layers to try to hold interest. I am happy with where this is at and going.

spliced the soundtrack in film to shorten it a bit.

Progress

More progress on trying to make the video more interesting in the middle but not as hectic as the intro, I need some breath time the whole video can not be choppy, so I am trying to figure out a solution to keep it watable.

Class Crit

This is where I am at, I am liking what is going on but if it looks cheesy or off please let me know.

Got Sound, Lets Roll

I was trying to think of clever song to par this with, I was going to do dubstep or heavy rock, when I got an idea to try the American Horror Story Theme song. I found a 3 minute version of the song and really liked the feel it gave my video, since I used them the show as a reference when shooting It is challenging to treat my footage as not precious and just interupt it and have a strong rhythm with the clips.

Process, getting to my Idea

I started to fool around with the clips and edit them at a pace I liked, everything seemed to slow and it was looking like my video would be 6 minutes long. I want top keep it under or at 3 minutes  I feel anything longer the viewer will zone out.

I am really happy with how this is turning out, I feel the music and speed of my clips tells the story stronger, and it works better than me just exaggerating the sounds or putting text in, which is what i was doing trying to do initially.

Proper Tattoo Sanitation PSA

I went down to Charlotte on Saturday to shoot my footage. I ended up with 140 different clips during filming. I narrowed that down to 70 usable videos. I know that this video is on the fast side, I was afraid 70 clips would take so much time and got a little Speed happy with the footage. I am more interested to see if the video shots go together. Also ignore the sound.
